CROP Walk

This blog is to let you all know about an event my church is participating in to help meet the needs of poverty locally and globally. The event is the CROP Walk. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. The walk in Chapel Hill is sponsored by Church World Service and the Inter-Faith Council (which is a non-profit organization local to Chapel Hill).

The money raised from this event goes to emergency response programs in the U.S. and worldwide, the Immigration and Refugee Program of Church World Service, the Church World Service Social and Economic Development Program, and to programs run by the IFC (Inter-Faith Council). The IFC runs two homeless shelters in Orange County, a food pantry, a job placement and training program, and other programs to assist people experiencing poverty locally. You can find out more information on the CROP Walk here (who and what the money goes to). Also the financial report from Church World Service is available.

I am raising money to go toward this cause. If you would like to contribute, please feel free to visit my donation page. The actual walk is on April 14th. I'll let you all know the stats on how it all goes!
