I'm an Auntx2!!!

My sister had her baby at about 6:25 yesterday evening. I don't know any other details yet, but I can't wait to come home for Christmas to meet my new neice and nephew. My brother and sister are officially adults now. Now they have to act serious about life. Now their lives will never be the same as they were before. It's weird enough the my older sister seems so grown up. . . I mean being a parent is about as grown up as it gets. But when the younger brother feels more grown up than you are. . . now that is truly weird.

Well megga 'grats on the new nephew/niece. Both my sisters have kids, all grown now. Me & the wife talked about kids for 20 years, then got too old & blew it off! Ya just don't miss what you never had; still my nieces & nephew have been fun over the years, am sure yours will be too.

From your response a couple of post ago:

I'm from a farm in the middle of the state, ‘bought 40nm NW of Macon. Left Ga back in '77 & haven't lived there since, but still consider it home--go figure.

With only 8 dives under your belt, I'd follow the rules as well, but you could still jump into the canyon, it starts in only 25' of water. Go down the canyon to your comfort limit & stop, it'll be fun as the first 50' or so are the most fun. The canyon exits at 170' which might be a bit much for you right now.

I started diving back in the 70s and am fairly comfortable down to about 200', but rarely go below 150' It starts getting fairly dark and there are no colors once you get below 80' or so (except in the beam of a flashlight). Best dive in Egypt to me was the Thistlegorm (sp? been awhile). A sunken British supply ship from WWII. Bottoms out at 90' but the top deck is around 60'. Don't come home w/o diving that one!

Cheers & 'grats again.

Dottie, you might want to check out the Cairo Hash House Harriers. You sound like a person who'd enjoy it. www.cairohash.com. We go out into th desert every Friday afternoon for a run or a walk, then hang out, have some beers and visit. The day ends with a dinner at a restaurant in Maadi. Lots of fun, if you have a sense of humor.

Yay Aunt Dottie! Congratulations! And bout that other comment, yeah! Join the hash house harriers.

In Augusta the group runs as well, but it usually involves running from bar to bar downtown and slamming pitchers of beer!!!

While staring out the window of the Mellow Mushroom on a veeery slow day, I suddenly saw a group of folks go sprinting by wearing hats and blowing whistles. Go figure. They're crazy and fun, but I'm sure the Cairo group is slightly less rednecky.

Take the girls with you. Might be fun! Love ya'll!
